Speakers Biography:
Dr. Gregor Möckel was born in 1972 in Dresden, Germany. After completing high school, he studied medicine at Humboldt University in Berlin and earned his doctorate in 1999 with a thesis titled “Biokinetic and Biocinematic Gait Analysis in Patients with Total Knee Arthroplasty.”
Dr Möckel has been working as a hip specialist since 2004, with a particular focus on minimally invasive procedures (arthroscopy). He has played a key role in establishing this technique over the past 20 years. Nationally and internationally, he has contributed to the development of hip-preserving arthroscopic and open surgery through lectures, scientific journal and book publications, as an instructor in courses and workshops, through the development of surgical instruments, and in live surgery demonstrations. In addition, he served for many years as Chair of the AGA Hip Committee.
His clinical focus is on providing individually tailored, optimal treatment for sports injuries and congenital conditions, particularly of the hip joint, such as femoroacetabular impingement, dysplasia, and hip osteoarthritis. Dr Möckel is an expert in hip arthroscopy, having performed over 5,000 procedures to date.
He practices in Berlin at his own clinic and currently performs surgeries at three hospitals in Berlin and the surrounding area. He spends most of his free time with his family in the mountains and by the sea.
